About This Place

Welcome to China Town Seng Kee, a hidden gem located at 52, Jalan Sultan, City Centre, Kuala Lumpur. Known for its authentic Chinese cuisine, this restaurant has quickly captured the hearts—and appetites—of Kuala Lumpur locals and visitors alike.

Upon stepping in, the fusion of warm ambiance and aromatic scents welcomes you. The restaurant prides itself on serving classic dishes with a modern twist, ensuring that every visit feels both nostalgic and fresh. Let’s dive into some crowd favorites that bring diners back time and again.

The Claypot Lo Shu Fun is perhaps the star of the show. Diners have praised its rich flavors, though some have noted it can be a tad salty. Nevertheless, its hearty goodness makes it a must-try for noodle lovers. As Samuel Swee insightfully shared, the dish remains a solid choice, complemented by the delightful Salted Egg Battered Long Beans that are both savory and moreish.

Another notable mention is the Kam Heong Lala, a dish that promises tantalizing flavors. Although some diners like Collin Toh experienced inconsistency in freshness, the sauce itself tends to leave a lasting impression. Pair this with a cup of their wholesome herbal tea, which has garnered positive feedback from patrons eager for a comforting finish.

Customer experience is key at China Town Seng Kee, with friendly staff ensuring everyone feels at home. Languages are not a barrier here; as Yoowarin Bhawathiranrojana discovered, there’s even a staff member who speaks Thai, making the dining experience accessible for a diverse clientele. The English menu is straightforward and helpful, allowing you to explore a variety of enticing options.

When it comes to ambiance, don’t be surprised if you spot a friendly face or two, like chef-owner Peter, who carries on the family legacy with pride and passion. Diners have found this personal touch fosters a delightful connection, while the promise of gourmet eats makes each visit memorable.

In summary, China Town Seng Kee isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a culinary adventure. Whether you’re returning for your favorite classic or exploring new dishes like the caramelized pork rib - hailed by Yoowarin as a standout - there's something to tantalize every palate. With easy access and friendly service, it’s time to gather your friends and dive into a sumptuous Chinese feast that will surely leave you wanting more!

What Guests Are Saying (1627)

I came by for dinner and there were quite a number of tables available. I got the claypot lo shi fun, and this was pretty decent. While a little salty, it was still pretty good overall. There's also salted egg battered long beans and these were so good and moreish. I made the mistake of ordering the gan xiang bamboo clams. While the flavour was decent, I didn't like the fact that the shells were all smashed up and mixed up in the dish, so I spent a lot more time extricating the shells from the edible parts.

The Claypot Lou Shu Fun is still as good as last time. First time trying the pork noodle and it tasted good. The Kam Heong Lala was abit of let down because of the freshness. Maybe due to the preparation. The sauce was good. Try the herbal tea... it's good too. Will be back again.

Oh yum! Same Great food, in new location. Plenty of car parking behind

Perhaps had it before long time ago, but just went with a Japanese, and met Peter the chef cum owner, inherited from the parents. Told me where to get the best durian after we had dinner. Nice experience. By the way, it’s my first time to meet Peter though.

Good taste. We were looking for yummy Chinese dishes and saw Chinese grandpa in this restaurant, so we chose this place lol. Not disappointed at all! Caramelizes pork rob impressed us, signature and MVP! Also fried dumpling and fried tofu set were delicious. Every staffs were friendly. One of them can speak Thai. But don’t worry, they have english menu and staff are very helpful.
